It's time for crazytownblog's fourth annual look at the best new LGBT shows on the internet.
by David Davila (playwright / songwriter)
It's hard to believe that this is my fourth annual round-up of LGBT shows online, and it's even harder to believe that my favorite gay webseries of all time (HUNTING SEASON - which I proudly featured in my first edition of this blog) has just barely released their second season.
It's been a good year and sad year for LGBT television. There are lots of gay characters on TV in awesome roles (HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER), but sadly my favorite one was canceled (LOOKING). Still with Bruce Jenner's big reveal last week the world is starting to look like a more accepting place for LGBT people... well... at least there is hope...
There are some great new web series out there that I think you might just love, so without further ado here are my picks for new gay shows that should be on your web radar!!!!!!!!
GO-GO BOY INTERRUPTED
The story of a seriously dumb gogo boy who is even meaner and sassier than all the Mean Girls put together... and who gets fired when he turns 30. This is intentional camp with lots of hot bods... How can gay guys NOT love it??? YOU WILL LAUGH... YOU WILL CRY... YOU WILL SPEW... and best of all... YOU WILL QUOTE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my absolute favorite of all of the new webisodes I've watched. It's a short sitcom about three roommates with adventurous dating lives and I laughed out loud several times at their crazy antics. It reminds me a lot of HAPPY ENDINGS, which is a very good thing! You must watch!
I feel really silly actually because this is the fourth year telling you about gay web shows, yet I just barely discovered BLOOMERS this year! Maybe that's because it wasn't that gay at first... BLOOMERS premiered in 2012 and it's trying to fund it's third season right now by showcasing the gay love stories which are OMG... the puppy dog eyes and butt cheeks are just too good to miss! YOU MUST WATCH IMMEDIATELY... though it takes a while to get to that!
TILL LEASE DO US PART
Two lesbians are forced to live together after they've broken up... that's the absolutely worst thing I've ever heard and it makes for a GREAT series!!! These ladies can really deliver a zinger! Ouch I would hate to be on the receiving end of their cuts, but damn this is a funny show!
Seriously cute guys that are involved in a love triangle. The writing can be cheesy at times but I still found this highly entertaining! Maybe it was the eye candy. :)
THAT GAY GUY
This web series has only a few hundred views so I'm not exactly sure how I found it. The quality of filming and lighting/sound isn't that great either, but it is FREAKING HILARIOUS!!!! Maybe I just have an effed up sense of humor. Cheers to making something great on a dime! Bravo!
... and now for the 90's jam of the week. This week we're featuring Brandy in honor of her big Broadway debut!!!!
